What is XeominⓇ?

XeominⓇ is a prescription medication that contains botulinum toxin type A and is used for the temporary improvement of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows and other facial wrinkles.

How does XeominⓇ work?

XeominⓇ works by blocking the nerve signals in muscles that cause wrinkles and lines, leading to temporary muscle relaxation and a smoother appearance.

What areas of the face can XeominⓇ treat?

XeominⓇ is primarily used to treat frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), but it can also be used to address other facial wrinkles, such as forehead lines and crow’s feet.

What are the main benefits of XeominⓇ compared to other botulinum toxin injections like Botox or Dysport?

XeominⓇ is similar to Botox and Dysport but contains a purified form of botulinum toxin type A. The choice between them often comes down to individual preferences and experiences.

Is XeominⓇ safe? Are there any potential side effects?

XeominⓇ is considered safe when administered by a qualified healthcare provider. Common side effects include temporary redness, swelling, or bruising at the injection site, and there may be other side effects like headache or muscle weakness.

How long does the effect of XeominⓇ last?

The effects of XeominⓇ are temporary and typically last for about 3 to 6 months. Results can vary among individuals.

Is there any discomfort during XeominⓇ injections?

Discomfort is usually minimal, and some XeominⓇ products contain lidocaine to enhance comfort. Topical numbing cream can also be applied.

How many XeominⓇ treatments are typically needed to achieve the desired results?

Most people achieve their desired results with one treatment session, but some individuals may require touch-up sessions to maintain their results.

Is there any downtime after XeominⓇ injections?

There is typically little to no downtime, and most individuals can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.

Can XeominⓇ be used in combination with other cosmetic procedures?

Yes, XeominⓇ can be used in combination with other treatments such as dermal fillers, laser therapy, or chemical peels to achieve comprehensive facial rejuvenation.

Who is a good candidate for XeominⓇ?

Good candidates for XeominⓇ are individuals looking to temporarily improve the appearance of facial wrinkles and lines. A consultation with a qualified provider can determine suitability.

How soon can I see results after getting XeominⓇ injections?

Some people notice initial improvements within a few days, but the full effects of XeominⓇ typically become more apparent within a week or two.

Are the results of XeominⓇ permanent?

The results of XeominⓇ are not permanent. As the effects wear off, muscle activity gradually returns to normal, necessitating maintenance treatments.

What is the cost of XeominⓇ treatment, and is it covered by insurance?

The cost of XeominⓇ treatment varies depending on the treatment area and the number of units needed. Generally, it is considered a cosmetic procedure and is not covered by insurance.

Are there any reasons why someone should not get XeominⓇ treatment?

People with allergies to any of the ingredients in XeominⓇ or certain medical conditions may not be suitable candidates for treatment. Consult with a healthcare provider to discuss contraindications.

How does XeominⓇ compare to other botulinum toxin injections like Botox or Dysport?

XeominⓇ, Botox, and Dysport are all botulinum toxin type A products with some differences in formulation and dosing. The choice between them depends on individual needs and preferences.

Is XeominⓇ suitable for all skin types and tones?

XeominⓇ is generally safe for all skin types and tones.

Are there any special precautions or aftercare instructions I should follow post-XeominⓇ treatment?

Following post-treatment instructions provided by your healthcare provider, such as avoiding strenuous exercise and excessive sun exposure, can help optimize results and minimize potential side effects that can include:

XEOMIN® (Zeo-min) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults for a short period of time (temporary).

  • Swallowing problems may last for several month. People who cannot swallow may need a feeding tube to receive food and water. If swallowing problems are severe, food or liquids may go into your lungs. People who already have swallowing or breathing problems before receiving XEOMIN® have the highest risk of getting these problems.
  • Spread of toxin effects. In some cases, the effect of botulinum toxin may affect areas of the body away from the injection site and cause symptoms of a serious condition called botulism. The symptoms of botulism include: loss of strength and muscle weakness all over the body, double vision, blurred vision and drooping eyelids, hoarseness or change of loss of voice, trouble saying words clearly, loss of bladder control, trouble breathing, trouble swallowing.

These problems could make it unsafe for you to drive a car or do other dangerous activities.

Do not use XEOMIN if you are allergic to XEOMIN® or any of the ingredients in XEOMIN® ((see the end of the Medication Guide for a list of the ingredients in XEOMIN®), had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin products such as rimabotulinumtoxinB (MYOBLOC®), onabotulinumtoxinA (BOTOX®, BOTOX® COSMETIC), or abobotulinumtoxinA (DYSPORT®) or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
